By submitting an abstract to the Watershed Management Conference, you acknowledge that you understand that:
- You are available to present in person at any time that the conference staff assigns your presentation. This conference will take place in person in Reston, VA.
- As a speaker, it is mandatory that you register and pay for the conference by May 21, 2025.
- Please note: Should an author submit their final paper but fail to register by the deadline, the unregistered paper will be removed from the conference program and proceedings.
- ASCE will not pay for your travel or other expenses.
- You have obtained permission and funding from your agency/company to make this presentation, including registration and affiliated travel (if applicable).
- You have applied for your international travel paperwork in advance to obtain international travel permissions (if applicable).
- Please note: Visa appointments can take up to 8 months, so please do not wait to start this process. An international letter of invitation will not be sent until you have registered and paid for the conference. Visit the international travel page for more information.
- We are not hosting a poster hall. All abstract submissions will be considered for oral presentation only.

Submitting your Abstract
When you are ready to submit your abstract, here's what you will need:
- Please make sure that you browse the topical session descriptions in the section above before continuing with the abstract submission process.

Abstract Guidelines
Abstracts must be:
- The abstract must be written in the best possible technical and grammatical English.
- The abstract should consist of one paragraph of about 250 words.
- Abstracts cannot include lists, tables, figures, display equations, footnotes, or references.
- The abstract should present a concise statement of the scope, principal findings, and conclusions of the author's work.
- Your own scientific, technical or project work but not a literature review.
- No more than 2 submissions per person (as the presenter).
Only people who have significantly contributed to the research, project, or manuscript preparation should be listed as co-authors. Co-authors are eligible to register for the conference at the conference speaker-reduced registration rate and are also bound to the speaker cancellation policy. Co-authors should be able to present the abstract content if the primary author is unable to.
Abstracts must NOT be:
- Autobiographical.
- Commercial or promotional.
ASCE requires that conference proceedings papers be original, unpublished work. ASCE does not publish abstract-only submissions or slide presentations in conference proceedings. ASCE/EWRI membership is encouraged but not required for submission.
Cancellations & Refund Requests
Authors and Co-Authors
Author conference registrations (including co-authors) that are canceled before June 21 are subject to a $100.00 cancellation fee. If the author (including co-authors) has submitted a final written paper, an additional $250.00 cancellation fee is applicable per paper.
Author conference registration fees (including co-authors) are completely non-refundable after June 21, 2025, due to the necessary advance production of the proceedings and the program.
Authors (including co-authors) may submit a request for refund consideration if:
- There is an illness or emergency that prevents you from traveling. In this instance, the refund request is made in writing and accompanied by a doctor's note and/or similar official documentation stating the emergency and the person's name. The subsequent refund request will be discussed post-conference by EWRI management, and if the refund is approved, it will be made minus a $100.00 processing fee and an additional $250.00 per paper submitted.
- If the participant has been denied a travel visa, please submit the official documentation received with the denial of your visa application. The subsequent refund request will be discussed post-conference by EWRI management, and if the refund is approved, it will be made minus a $100.00 processing fee and an additional $250.00 per paper submitted.
- If your visa appointment has been delayed and you have written proof that you requested an appointment prior to June 21, 2025, please send your documentation for refund consideration. The subsequent refund request will be discussed post-conference by EWRI management, and if the refund is approved, it will be made minus a $100.00 processing fee and an additional $250.00 per paper submitted.

Attendees and Moderators
Attendee refund requests (does not apply to authors or co-authors) received after the cancellation date of July 21, 2025, will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and are reviewed 30 days post-conference.
